I workout regularly, but have recently purchased a whey protein to take it to the next level. After consulting my trainer, I’m confused as to when and how many times should I take the protein shake. He has advised me to take it 4-5 times a day, which I think is more than required. What are your thoughts?

How much protein you should be consuming depends on a lot of factors, especially your protein requirement. Once you have your protein requirement for the day with you, try consuming as much protein as you can through diet (whole foods). When you feel that there are gaps in your protein requirement and what you get from diet, then decide how much protein should you consume, to meet that need. I usually suggest taking two scoops a day, one in the morning, and one post workout. But its subjective. Hence, I’d suggest you to compare your protein requirement with that you’re taking through diet, and then decide how many scoops do you wish to take.
